'What the day may include' are guidelines only. What actually gets covered on the day will be determined by what the Assessor needs to see the candidates demonstrate. Their goal however, is to provide you with an educational, fun and safe day out.

Model Client Requirements:	Aspiring Sea Kayak 1 instructor/guide, or recreational and club paddlers keen to upskill. Approx 20 days experience. Own paddling gear and camping equipment required (wetsuit, paddle jacket, spray deck, PFD, paddle, sea kayak, dry bays, compass, cooker, billy, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, shelter).
What the day might include:	2 days instruction on various sea kayaking skills such as safety & group management, navigation, weather, rolling, paddle strokes and skills, rescue techniques, surfing and landing, environmental and nautical knowledge. Includes camping out overnight.

Under 18 yr olds must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them and also participates as a model client. For Rock courses only, adults can choose not to participate but must stay onsite to supervise under 18’s.
