'What the day may include' are guidelines only. What actually gets covered on the day will be determined by what the Assessor needs to see the candidates demonstrate. Their goal however, is to provide you with an educational, fun and safe day out.

Model Client Requirements:	Aspiring Kayak 1 instructor or recreational paddler keen to upskill. Approx 20 days experience. Comfortable doing eddy turns and rolling on Grade 2. Provide your own paddling gear. Possible rental fee required for pool usage (usually $10pp).
What the day might include:	2 days instruction on intermediate/advanced kayaking skills such as rolling, flat-water skills, moving water skills, Grade 3 river running and river rescue techniques.

Under 18 yr olds must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them and also participates as a model client. For Rock courses only, adults can choose not to participate but must stay onsite to supervise under 18’s.
