'What the day may include' are guidelines only. What actually gets covered on the day will be determined by what the Assessor needs to see the candidates demonstrate. Their goal however, is to provide you with an educational, fun and safe day out.

Model Client Requirements:	Age 16yrs and above Previous flat-water paddling experience, some river experience good but not essential. Has or can access all their own equipment (multisport boat or sea kayak, airbags, spray deck, paddle, PFD, paddle jacket and helmet) Not suitable for those that can confidently paddle Grade 2 rivers in an advanced kayak
What the day might include:	2-day instruction. Learning progressions from paddling on flat water through to paddling on a Grade 2 river. You will be going upside down in your kayak and you will be taught how to keep yourself safe and also how to self-rescue.

Under 18 yr olds must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them and also participates as a model client. For Rock courses only, adults can choose not to participate but must stay onsite to supervise under 18’s.
