Mountain Bike Leader

This qualification is for people who can lead mountain bike trips on trails up to and including MTBNZ Grade 2 within daylight hours. Multi-day or overnight trips will be serviced and staffed accommodation or campgrounds, with road access and reliable telecommunications.

Mountain Bike Leader Scope and Syllabus

Mountain Bike 1

This qualification is for people who can organise, instruct and lead participants in the mountain biking skills required for a positive experience on trails up to and including MTBNZ Grade 4. A MTB 1 holder will teach intermediate mountain biking skills on MTBNZ Grade 3 or below terrain. A MTB 1 holder may lead and manage intermediate riders on MTBNZ Grade 4 trails. Two-day assessment.
