What is required to complete the application process::
 
  • Current Membership to NZOIA
  • First Aid
  • Avalanche 1
  • Risk Disclosure/Health Form (you will fill this in as part of your online application).
  • NZOIA Alpine Summary Sheet
  • Applicable NZOIA 1 qualification
  • Be 20yrs or over (at time of assessment)
  • Logbook - Alpine

Location: Central South Island

Arthur's Pass / Craigieburns

The holder of this qualification can organise, instruct and lead:

- Multi-day alpine climbing trips up to grade 2 on peaks less than 3000m.

- Trips on easy glaciated terrain where travel is straight forward. Crevasse hazards may be present and options exist to reduce or eliminate exposure to risk through route selection.

The assesment begins in the evening at 7pm followed by four full days.
