For those who are organising and leading others on trips of 2 - 3 days duration in alpine or snow environments in all seasons, on non-technical ground (where a rope is not normally required) and snow is normally encountered.

What is required to complete the application process::
 
  • Current Membership to NZOIA
  • First Aid
  • Risk Disclosure/Health Form (you will fill this in as part of your online application).
  • NZOIA Alpine Summary Sheet
  • Be 20yrs or over (at time of assessment)
  • Logbook - Alpine
  • Bush 1 Qualification
  • Back Country Avalanche Risk Management

Location: North Island

The holder of this qualification can organise, instruct and lead trips in alpine or snow environments in all seasons.  Trips are in non-technical terrain where a rope is not normally required.

The assesment begins in the evening at 7pm followed by three full days.
